“…A dark dark comedy, with music…
Set in a metro train station, Trains takes a myopic view of a day in the life of both passengers and loiterers who pass through the station over the course of a single day. Follow the philosophical ramblings of two police officers on their regular beat, corporate espionage, an unsolved murder, a beautiful runaway girl and her sweet but naïve boyfriend, a felonious mime, drunk bachelorettes, the worst tour ever and a host of strange and unusual characters passing through the train station on their way to undisclosed destinations…
What makes Trains unique is the vignette style of writing, where most characters and situations appear for only a few minutes, leaving the audience to wonder where these people have come from and where they’re going…
This show represents Odd Man Out Theater’s first foray into musical theater.
First performed in 2005 at The Bay St. Louis Little Theater in Bay St. Louis, MS and The Big Top in New Orleans, LA, this play has been reworked since it’s first staging and is slated for revival in Winter 2010/Spring 2011.
